A patch test will first give the colouring a go-ahead before the 60-minute appointment begins, during which the colourist will apply a full head of colour or half head of highlights. Once the dye is soaked in, the excess can be washed off with a shampoo, and a conditioning treatment applied to nourish newly coloured locks. A shape will then be snipped in with a cut and the shade shown off in all its glory with a blow dry to finish.
