When resauces were low during the great granule shortage of 1976, Sunday roasts were sad, dejected and unwanted. Make sure it’s all gravy with today’s Groupon: €26 for two courses for two plus a glass of Prosecco each at Vaughan's Eatery.
Praised in Food and Wine Magazine's Eat Out Guide 2011 for its simple, hearty fare, Vaughan's Eatery is a welcoming restaurant serving up the best of Irish produce. Split into two separate dining rooms, each decked out with wood panelled floors and soft lighting, the restaurant has a warm, relaxed atmosphere. All meat served up by the talented chefs is supplied by O'Tooles Butchers and is 100 per cent Irish and organic. Lovers of libations are similarly well cared for as the impressive wine list was compiled by Master of Wine Charles Derain.

Each person can choose a starter and main course each from the a la cárte menu, with meals accompanied by a glass of Prosecco each. Starters include fresh fish cakes in homemade tartar sauce (€7.20) and homemade chicken liver paté with sourdough bread and cranberry sauce (€6.50). Choices for the main event include stuffed darné of Irish salmon in herb and lemon butter with boiled baby potatoes (€13.50) and roasted duck breast on a bed of red cabbage with rosemary and red wine jus, potato fondant, crushed potato and carrot (€18.90).
