About Fixed Orthodontic Braces
Fixed braces are designed to straighten out wonky teeth. An impression is taken of teeth before a single or double arch set of braces is positioned and bonded. Adjustments are needed every six to eight weeks to ensure teeth keep moving towards their target destination, before the final de-bonding and retainer fitting session.
The Merchant
Giving their customers plenty to smile about, East Coast Orthodontics offers aesthetic treatments courtesy of a dedicated orthodontist and a clinic-full of cutting edge technology. The centre has been straightening smiles since 1997, and is located a short drive from Dundrum Shopping Centre in Sandyford, welcoming clients into a large reception area, and offering free rest spots for their cars.
The Sessions
Suitable for children aged 11-16 years, the treatment will begin with a consultation, where the orthodontist will determine the suitability and ensure teeth are in good dental health. A mould will be taken and within 16 weeks the next appointment will see the braces bonded to both arches, designed to gradually tow wayward pegs back in line. About twelve follow-up sessions will follow every six to eight weeks on average, to adjust as necessary. The final session will de-bond the fitting, and the patient will be given a retainer to wear after which a complete and long-term check-up will finalise the entire process.
