The Hotel
Retaining the listed building’s theatrical façade, and installing contemporary comforts inside, this hotel is a mixture of decadence and modern comforts. The theatre’s old ballroom still lights up a party with the original vaulted ceiling and lavish decorations, but nowadays known as the Palace Nightclub. Featured in the Alan Parker film “The Commitments”, the club is stamped with its own little dose of fame, while its bar and pool hall also dish out entertainment.
Groupon Recommends
Skip the usual crowds at Temple Bar and take a stroll round the quieter parts of the local area to stumble upon a portal of arts, music, and literature at Trinity College. While there, and make sure to peruse the grand vaults of the Old Library, a stunning 18th century ode to knowledge. Continue artsy ganders by taking a trip to the James Joyce centre, doffing a cap at Oscar Wilde’s statue in Merrion Square Park and perusing over rare Yates scribblings at the Dublin Writers Museum. Finally, flow through beverage tours at Old Jameson Distillery and the Guinness Storehouse, before heading back to the hotel to dance the night away.
