Balancing five stars atop its three-year title as 'Malta’s Leading Hotel', this villa ties the cultural fusion and contemporary vibe of the island nation in a majestic bow. A mixed bag of influences has crafted a colourful and vibrant country, with rich architectural heritage spiced up with modern pizzazz. The hotel sits equidistant from the past and present capitals, between the tiny twisting alleyways and limestone fortifications of ancient Mdina and the sprinkling of twinkling lights of Valletta on the coast below.

The Hotel
Pairing regal exteriors and lush greenery with the plush home comforts of cosy rooms, Corinthia Palace Hotel and Spa serves up Mediterranean hospitality with a sprinkling of sophistication. The outdoor pool is complete with an alfresco bar and restaurant, while inside, gym equipment, a second heated pool, and the Athenaeum Spa strive to keep bodies agleam. A bundle of on-site bars, bistros, and restaurants cater to formal fine dining or a tipple over tapas. By day, the hotel indulges in its own spot of sun soaking, with 30 solar panels lending an eco-hand towards electricity and handy hot showers.

Groupon Recommends
Hop on a complimentary shuttle to the capital city of Valletta, a condensed patchwork of winding streets, grand palazzos, and stylish wine bars approximately 8km from the hotel. St John’s Co-Cathedral offers a feast for the culture hungry, with illustrated and carefully inscribed walls, walkways, and ceilings leading to a collection of resident art works, all within an imposing Baroque façade. The 'silent city' of Mdina is a few kilometres west, a medieval town still confined within its own walls. Alternatively, stay on site for a relaxing day in the spa, where the pamper menu stretches from thermal massages and sea salt scrubs to a manicure to show off around the stem of a cocktail glass.

Reviews

The Corinthia Palace Hotel and Spa receives a swish 4.5/5 rating on TripAdvisor. Reviewers favoured the hotel’s quiet luxury. Guests made note of the facilities and reliable services, especially its free shuttle transportation.

Bedrooms are large and nicely furnished in traditional style with a massive bed. Pool area is excellent and the spa and indoor pool area are also very good but as always treatments are extra.
MarkandBJ, TripAdvisor, Jul 2012

The location of the hotel is a little away from all the sights of Malta but it is worth it to stay in luxury. There are beautiful Presidential gardens across the street and some lovely bars and restaurant there too.
