Sitting at the edge of a city celebrated as both a fashion hub and a medieval architectural masterpiece, the Tulip Inn is poised to take the full measure of Antwerp's chic cultural landscape. From the cobbled streets of the old centre to the diamond shops and thriving port-side nightlife, the city blends a rich past with a cosmopolitan present, the apex of which can be found in the vast collections of the fine Museum aan de Stroom.

A comfortably modern establishment on the edge of the city, the Tulip Inn welcomes guests to rooms of chestnut brown bedspreads and a restaurant finished in fine contemporary style. Diners take seats at dark wood tables, choosing from an array of grilled fish and meat dishes alongside Belgian draft beers and select wines.
Travel the 5km to the city centre, where an impressive rock-mounted Brabo fountain stands at the centre of Grote Markt, a square lined with renaissance guildhalls. The MAS museum spreads over five floors, with views over the city from its roof terrace and a vast permanent collection alongside contemporary exhibitions. Art historians may wish to find inspiration in the baroque mansion of Rubenshuis, former home of artist Pieter Paul Rubens, while all visitors should take a peek at the Central Station, an impressive cathedral to rail travel and one of the city's major landmarks.

The Tulip Inn received a comfortable 3.5/5 from TripAdvisor users. While opinions varied on the decor, visitors noted the clean, comfortable rooms and convenient transport links for exploring Antwerp.
Once you're there, though, the tram into the centre of town is about a 10-minute slow walk away and you won't need the car at all to get to see the sights of Antwerp, which are many and varied.

By giving this hotel 4 out of 5 I am not saying that it is a 4 star hotel. It clearly isn't and it doesn't pretend to be. It is, however, very good at what it does. The beds are very comfy, the rooms are clean and the breakfast is exceptional.
