The Hotel
The white apartments of The Residence lay curved around the turquoise waters of its swimming pool, encircled by sunloungers and canopied by parasols and the green foliage of the trees. The recently refurbished hotel boasts spacious apartments with balconies or terraces overlooking the pool, sea, or mountains of Rhodes, while downstairs, the four restaurants serve up seasonal Greek and European cuisine in the shape of billowing buffets and à la carte dining. Two bars, including a swim-up venue keep glasses topped up with globe-trotting tipples, and little ones are also catered for with fun-filled activity programmes and daily mini discos.

A drive north to Rhodes Town will reveal the Avenue of the Knights, a cobblestone thoroughfare lined with honey-coloured stone buildings, and will also offer the opportunity to explore the collection held within the walls of the grandiose Palace of the Grand Masters. Alternatively use a visit to the town to experience Rhodes from underwater with a spot of scuba diving in Kalithea Thermi – the only place on the island where diving is permitted – or return to the resort to plunge into the cooling embrace of the pool. Perhaps walk down to the beach in the late afternoon, then dress for dinner or prepare for a night out in the tavernas of Ialyssos.

TripAdvisors award Residence a superb 4/5 stars. While some guests would like more options for children’s meals, reviewers praise the leisure facilities, clean and sizeable rooms, and helpful staff.
I stayed there with my husband in June, and we had an amazing time. The staff was excellent, service was great, our room was lovely and the bar was the liveliest place in the area! Such great atmosphere and we are definitely going to go back!
