Although it may be enfolded in the medieval streets of Tallin's World Heritage-listed Old Town, the St. Olav Hotel sits amidst art deco-styled café culture and a vibrant club scene. The city's vista creates an artfully jagged line where the spires of Gothic churches mingle with baroque facades and intricately carved stone walls. A burgeoning art scene amongst the city's inhabitants is evident in the growing presence of galleries and a fashion-forward people who showcase the wares of Tallinn's trendy boutiques.

Outside, the richness of character that pervades the hotel's rooms is continued in an attractive courtyard, lined with the outreaching branches of linden trees.

Groupon Recommends
Just a few minutes' walk from the hotel, the town hall square, Raekoja plats dominates the Old Town's centre with its Gothic town hall and open-air festivals and concerts. The 13th century dome church, St Mary's Cathedral, Toomkirik stands on the sacred hill of Toompea in Tallinn, home to a slew of imposing carved tombs where the remains of the rich and noble lie in decadent peace. Meanwhile, party hunters will be pleased with their destination, as a little exploration reveals the Old Town to be the host of a wild diversity of bars for a pre-club cocktail.

Reviews
The St. Olav Hotel has no end of enthusiastic reviews from those who enjoyed their stay, and Booking.com rates the accommodation as a mighty 7.7/10. Although comments note the lack of a lift between floors and narrow stairs, reviews on the whole are very positive. Visitors especially appreciate the hotel’s location in the historic city centre, the atmospheric basement bar, and quality breakfasts.
Excellent hotel, the staff were very helpful and very efficient. Our room was kept spotlessly clean, with freshly laundered towels every day. Breakfast was continental with a wide selection. The hotel was very central to the Old City. We had a very enjoyable stay.

On arrival, we were warmly welcomed and directed to our room, although it took a while to find with all the twisty, winding corridors but this adds to the hotel's charm. We were placed in a cosy room on the third floor, there was only a foot between the end of the bed and the window, but the room was well appointed, warm and comfortable, although the bed was extremely soft!
