The eatery has recently flung open its gourmet doors to offer diners a bundle of delights served up during breakfast, lunch and dinner. Fresh and seasonal produce is hailed by the crafty head chef where possible, helping each mouthful to be packed with plucky and vivacious flavours.

Hungry pairs opting for the steak dinner will find plates adorned with a ten ounce cut of meat accompanied with a potato cake, onion rings, and choice of pepper sauce or garlic butter (€16.95). Alternatively, couplings can tuck into the two course menu which features a colourful range of options. The chicken tandoori terrine with cucumber and mint riata (€6.95) or a traditional Bangers and Mash with onion Gravy (€12.95) might be the dish of choice or, alternatively, the soup of the day (€4.95) may win over flavour fans. This newly opened bistro has received an enthusiastic response from its first reviewer on thisislimerick.com, who has described the food as “fresh and exciting” as well as praising the staff for their formidable efforts to graciously overcome any teething problems.
Black Fig Bistro attempts to source most, if not all, of its ingredients from local farmers, butchers and sustainable fisheries. I could not fault what was presented to me, it was a beautiful dish, crafted by a master.
