Families can join the Teddy Bears at Rathwood’s teddy bear picnic this spring and summer. Starting with a stop at the teddy bear factory, visitors will be able to create their own teddy bear before hopping aboard the Rathwood Express to be taken down to the woodland. Guests will enjoy a picnic with their new friends, with refreshments and snacks supplied throughout the day. Entry to the one-hour event is available for children aged nine and under, with accompanying adults, while the picnic will take place inside the Teddy Bears’ Castle in the event of bad weather.

Operating for over 20 years, Rathwood is a family-run department store and restaurant in Rath, Tullow. The 15-acre site offers all manner of gifts, gazebos, sheds, pots and plants to peruse, and features an animal park complete with forest walks, train rides and a children's play area. Visitors can also experience a spot of falconry, or take on the Maze of Ireland - a 1.2-acre beech maze in the shape of the country.
