Groupon Recommends After making the most of the hotel’s facilities and the Blue Flag beaches on the doorstep, tick off the sightseeing ventures along the Ring of Kerry tourist trail. Venture by car into Derrynane National Park and seek out Derrynane House, former home of Irish politician Daniel O’Connell, now an Irish National Monument. For megalithic meanders further afield, ponder the remains of Staigue stone fort which is believed to have been a stronghold for an Iron Age king, while local lore suggests it was a searching ground for ore. The Stay • En suite double room • Breakfast each morning • Tea and scones available on one day Transport Road Derrynane lies by the N70, reachable from Cork via the N22, taking the R569 link from Kileen to Kenmare. Reviews Derrynane Hotel receives a favourable 4/5 stars from TripAdvisors and a super 8.4/10 from Bookers. Reviewers compliment the relaxing atmosphere, comfortable rooms and thoughtful personnel. In addition, the hotel has attracted an AA Rosette. Probably the best location in Ireland, stunning views. Very friendly staff, great value all round, suitable for all age groups. We got a great welcome and were made to feel special. We will be back. – sadlier, TripAdvisor, Jul 2012 We walked in from a weather tough day on the Ring of Kerry, and the steam and sauna were sorely needed and appreciated. The strength of this accommodation is its beautiful setting on the ocean, trails for walking onto the cliffs, and benches to watch the sunset. Having an on site restaurant means the Kerry walker does not have to go back out into town looking for dinner. – KatherineLee, TripAdvisor, Sep 2011
