About This Deal
Filmbase is a nonprofit space for filmmakers to mingle, work, and learn along the vibrant Temple Bar. The centre has provided film and video making equipment for hire, offered a range of award schemes, and taught courses in directing to Photoshop for the past 25 years, furnishing its reputation with a connective membership scheme for avid cineastes. Sleekly combining teaching studios with cinema space, the modern building also has a café. This 6.5hour seminarbased introduction to filmmaking will feature talks on the trifecta of producing with Conor Barry, writing, and directing for movie newbies with Michael Lavelle. Beginning with the foundation of good script writing, the workshop will cover working with actors and and submitting to festivals before rounding up with a discussion of feature film funding. The day will be led by successful figures in the industry, including Stephen Walsh, writer of awardwinning feature film Where The Sea Used To Be.
