Guests opting for this three-hour tour have the opportunity to explore the Vatican Museum, the Sistine Chapel and St Peter’s Basilica accompanied by an expert guide without having to wait hours before entering (small-group tour: up to 12 people). A strict dress code is required, knees and shoulders must be covered. Evening tours do not include a visit to St. Peter’s Basilica. Tours departing Wednesday may not include access to St Peter’s Basilica and St Peter’s Square due to the weekly Papal Audience. As an alternative, visitors will be offered an extended itinerary within the Vatican Museums, which still includes the Sistine Chapel and Raphael’s Rooms. On rare occasions, St Peter’s Basilica closes without notice. If this happens, travellers will spend a full 3 hours touring the Vatican Museums and Sistine Chapel. Any affected dates shall be listed as they become available. The tour guides aim to notify guests if St Peter’s Basilica is unexpectedly closed upon commencement of the tour. It is beyond the tour operator’s control, so no refunds or discounts will be issued. For Vatican Museums, all visitors must pass through metal detectors at the security check point (waiting time: 20-30 minutes to clear security). Please note that entrance fees to the Vatican Museums are not included. Vatican Museums entrance fee and headphones will be approx. €23 per adult and €16 per child, cash only.
