The Houseboat
An authentic model of a traditional Pénichette, The Pénichette 935W is ideally designed for couples and families. The boathouse features a double cabin with a cloakroom and plenty of storage space. The living area has a bench which can be converted into a double bed. Hot water and heating are also available for travellers’ convenience. To ensure the home-like feel, the boat comes complete with a fully equipped kitchen and bathroom with a shower, sink and toilet. Moments of relaxation can be also enjoyed on the sundeck.
To drive a self-drive hire boat from Locaboat no qualifications or previous experience are required. Locaboat rents properly fitted out and certified boats for cruising in regions popular with tourists where there is little commercial traffic, and is fully insured. In France, Germany, Ireland, and the Netherlands, Locaboat has authorisation from the local authorities to rent out boats without the customers required to purchase a licence for themselves. Theoretical and practical training is provided before the cruise to ensure that the customers know how to drive the boat and understand the essential cruising rules.

Limitations:
On arrival the customers must choose one of these mandatory options:
- €1,500 deposit to be paid directly to the partner on base
- Damage waiver for diminished deposit of €500 (€85 to be paid directly to the partner on base)
- All-Inclusive Package: damage waiver, fuel, cleaning, 1 bicycle for €315 to be paid directly on base
Additional services to be paid on base (not mandatory):
- Fuel: 3,0 liter / hour (costs differ per country).
- Adult bicycle: €40 per week to be paid directly to the partner on base.
- Child bicycle: €20 per week to be paid directly to the partner on base.
