Hang out with Goldilocks and the three bears at Rathwood’s teddy bear picnic. Starting with a stop at the teddy bear factory, visitors will be able to create their own bear before hopping aboard the Rathwood Express to be taken down to the woodland. There will be a chance to feed the geese before enjoying a picnic with new friends, complete with a drink, cookie and fruit, all supplied on the day. Entry to the one-hour event is available for children aged nine and under, with accompanying adults, while the picnic will take place inside the Teddy Bears Castle in the event of bad weather.

The Merchant

Established for over 20 years, Rathwood is a family-run department store and restaurant in Rath, Tullow. The 15-acre site offers all manner of gifts, gazebos, sheds, pots, plants and gifts to peruse, while also offering an animal park complete with forest walks, train rides and a children’s play area. Visitors can also experience a spot of falconry, or take on the Maze of Ireland; a 1.2-acre beech maze in the shape of the country.
