A period estate set within 45 acres of grounds, the elegant Finnstown Castle Hotel is located within the villlage of Lucan. Peaceful strolls alongside the Rover Liffey and River Grifeen can be paired with visits out to the countryside, with the National Botanic Gardens of Ireland just a 20-minute drive away. Visitors are also centrally located for taking in a number of nearby 18-hole golf courses, including Grange Castle Golf Course and Hermitage Golf Club. The city lights of Dublin are just a 20-minute drive away, where attractions include the Castle, the Guinness Storehouse and Dublin Zoo. Each of the en suite rooms are equipped with a TV as well as tea and coffee-making facilities. A maximum of two children are allowed to stay in the room for a surcharge; children aged between 0 and 3 years can stay for free. When it comes to food, guests are spoilt for choice thanks to a number of on-site dining opportunities. Visitors can stop by Jim’s Bar for drinks, or pop into the AA Rosette-awarded Peacock restaurant for a decadent meal. A slice of traditional afternoon tea will be served to guests in the drawing room, decked up with period features and sofas. Guests have access to the leisure facilities which includes a Turkish bath, free weights section and a variety of fitness classes. Visitors may also decide to take a dip in the indoor heated swimming pool, or practise their back hands with a game of tennis on the courts.
