About this Business
Glasnevin Cemetery Museum celebrates Ireland's social and political heritage. The Victorian burial site marks the resting place of famous figures such as Michael Collins and Countess Markievicz. Walking tours see a seasoned historian lead visitors about the site outside for up to 90 minutes, delivering anecdotes concerning the crypts, their residents and the region's history with a visit to Daniel O'Connell's crypt along the way. Guests are able to trace their own roots with €5 of credit to put towards performing genealogy searches. Admission also includes entry to the neighbouring National Botanic Gardens, home to over 300 endangered species of flora from around the world. The two attractions are now linked by a historic gateway, creating one of the largest green spaces in Dublin.
