About Birr Castle Gardens & Science Centre

The team at Birr Castle Gardens & Science Centre welcome visitors from all over the world to explores its rich and diverse attraction. Home to the Great Telescope built by the 3rd Earl in 1845 and remained the largest in the world for over 70 years. Visitors ramble through 120 acres of gardens and parklands which is home to over 50 champion trees. The young explores can explore Irelands' tallest treehouse and the adventure playground. Open all year round with key activities planned over St Patricks weekend, the Easter School holidays and Halloween mid-term. Also, there is a Courtyard café, playground kiosk and a gift shop.
