Deadeyes can try their luck on a huge range of targets at Balheary Shooting, complete with 25 clays and ammunition each. An instructor will round up groups of six for this 40minute experience, and also supplies each participant with safety equipment and refreshments. A clay pigeon shooting ground that has been established in Balheary since 1968. The grounds are equipped with facilities for sporting, skeet and DTL disciplines, and the team regularly change the traps to ensure that shooters are always suitably challenged. What facilities are there? Balheary’s tower is one of the biggest of its kind in the country, and stands at 120feet tall. Shooting from the tower is extremely challenging, and targeting longrange crossers from the top provides a challenge for all abilities. How about lessons? Personal lessons can be taken with grounds manager Aidan Collins. Aidan has plenty of competitive experience and has regularly featured for the Irish shooting team, and is also a record holder for the Leinster League.
